
Yuvamitra held an enlivening program for the ICYM and YCS/YSM at Jogfalls, Shivamogga.
Shivamogga, February 10, 2026: The Youth Commission of the Diocese of Shimoga, “Yuvamitra,” organized an enlivening program for ICYM and YCS/YSM leaders at Christ the King Church, Jogfalls, on February 7 and 8, 2026.
The program commenced on February 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with the participants’ arrival. Fr. Franklin D’Souza, Diocesan Youth Director, served as a resource person. At 5:30 p.m., Fr. Franklin D’Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist for the faithful, catechism children, and the participants.
At 7 p.m., Fr. Franklin D’Souza facilitated a session titled “Revealing Oneself to Jesus.” Participants documented both positive and negative attributes, sealing them for private reflection. The subsequent sharing proved highly inspirational. At 8 p.m., Fr. D’Souza conducted a session “How to Build Confidence in Leadership” based on Luke 23:31-34, 54-62. The session concluded with dinner at 9:30 p.m.
On February 8, 2026, youth leaders joined parishioners at 7 a.m. for adoration. At the end of the adoration, Father Franklin D’Souza prayed for healing. At 7:30 a.m., Father Franklin D’Souza led the Holy Eucharist. Christ the King Parish celebrated Holy Childhood Association Day. Special prayers were held for the children by Father Franklin D’Souza.
At 9 a.m., youth leaders held an interaction session with ICYM and YCS/YSM of Christ the King Parish, Jogfalls. Ms. Lenny, President of ICYM Diocese of Shimoga, shared her experience together with her team members with the parish youth. Fr. Franklin D’Souza and Fr. Salvador Rodrigues addressed the youth. Breakfast was served for all.
Following breakfast, participants visited the falls from 11 AM to 1 PM. Father Franklin D’Souza led two important sessions on bringing out one’s potential through an activity based on one-to-one interaction, key points for Catholic youth, and Jesus’ style of leadership.
At 1:00 p.m., participants evaluated the program, reporting that it fostered inner strength and aided in rediscovering their identities as Christian leaders. Fr. Franklin D’Souza concluded with a prayer. He also thanked Fr. Salvador Rodrigues for hosting the enlivening program.
In attendance were Ms. Lenny D’Sa (ICYM DEXCO President), Ms. Nikitha Sofia (Secretary), Mr. Samuel Fernandes (Treasurer), Ms. Susanna (Girl Representative), and Ms. Beena Farias (Liturgy In-charge), along with Rexin Pinto (YCS/YSM DTS President).
The program concluded with lunch at 1:45 p.m.
