Youth Sunday Celebration Held at Parish Church, Jog Falls, Diocese of Shimoga
Shivamogga, Jog Falls, August 18, 2026: Youth Sunday was celebrated with great joy, faith, and enthusiasm at the Parish Church, Jog Falls on August 16, 2026. The program was organized by ICYM and YCS, Jog Falls.
The celebration began with the Holy Mass. All the youth entered in a procession at the beginning of the Mass, carrying colorful roses. They actively participated in the choir, liturgy, prayers, readings, and other ministries. Their enthusiastic involvement brought a special spirit and energy to the celebration.
During the homily, Fr. Salvador Rodrigues delivered an inspiring message on unity. He beautifully explained the importance of togetherness by comparing different colored roses forming a single bouquet, as a symbol of unity in diversity.
The theme for the day was drawn from John 16:33, “Take courage; I have overcome the world.” The youth were encouraged to remain strong in faith amidst life’s challenges.
After the Holy Mass, a short youth meeting was held at 11:30 AM. The importance of unity, faith, service, leadership, and active participation in Church activities was discussed. Following the meeting, the youth took part in a short video-making activity based on the theme.
The day concluded with a time of fellowship and celebration. The youth spent time together in joy, laughter, teamwork, and interaction, creating memorable moments of togetherness.
Youth Sunday proved to be a meaningful and memorable celebration. It brought the young people closer to God and to one another, while encouraging them to become responsible and active members of the Church.
We sincerely thank our parish priest, parish leaders, youth coordinators, volunteers, and all the youth who contributed their time and effort to make the celebration a success.
“Young people are the hope and joy of the Church.”
