YCS / YSM Day Celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga

Shivamogga, August 31, 2026: The Sacred Heart Cathedral unit celebrated YCS/YSM Day on August 30, 2026.

As part of the preparation, members of the YCS/YSM youth group led the liturgy during the Children’s Mass on Saturday, August 29.

The formal celebration was held on Sunday. After breakfast, children assembled in the Parish Hall at 11:00 AM for a short session.

The programme was symbolically inaugurated by Parish Priest Fr. Stany D’Souza along with Fr. Glanson D’Souza, Cathedral Unit Director of YCS/YSM, Dn. Santhosh Kumar S.J., Br. Sharron OCD, and Sr. Arogya Mary.

In his message, Fr. Stany D’Souza inspired the gathering with words of encouragement. Fr. Glanson D’Souza then enlightened the children on the core methodology of the movement — “See, Judge and Act” — followed by a group discussion on the theme.

Dn. Santhosh and Br. Sharron kept the participants actively engaged through energetic group dynamics and action songs. Fr. Franklin D’Souza, Diocesan Youth Director, also visited and motivated the children with his presence and words.

The programme concluded at 12 noon with a formal vote of thanks.
