Taize Prayer held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga 

Shivamogga, November 27, 2025: ICYM of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga organized Taize Prayer, on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening began with an opening prayer and singing led by Msgr Stany D’Souza, the Parish Priest, which set a serene and reflective tone for the prayer.

The Taizé prayer service was conducted by Fr. Pius D’Souza, whose gentle and steady presence helped the people enter deeply into silence and contemplative prayer. His prayerful guidance enabled the faithful to pray with interior depth, and the manner in which he led the chants drew the community into a spirit of reverence and heartfelt worship.

Fr Franklin D’Souza, the Director of the Diocese of Shimoga, was present and encouraged the youth and parish community by his participation. He also made himself available for the Sacrament of Confession, offering spiritual support throughout the service. Fr Jostro MSFS, the ICYM coordinator and Fr Johnson R, assisted in organizing the Taizé prayer and ensured that the arrangements were carried out smoothly.

A special note of appreciation is extended to the ICYM youth, who took responsibility for all the arrangements. Their active involvement, disciplined participation, and generous presence added beauty and devotion to the evening. The Taizé prayer helped the people pray in silence, creating an atmosphere to encounter God through chants, scripture, and quiet reflection.
