Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga Sanmarga Catechetical Camp 2026

Shivamogga, April 9, 2026: A three-day catechetical camp from April 6-8, 2026, was held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga, for children. The camp was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Stany D’Souza, Parish Priest, with Assistant Parish Priest Fr. Johnson SJ present. ICYM and YCS/YSM leaders coordinated the program.

Resource persons Br. Oswin Fernandes SJ and Br. Anvil Mascarenhas SJ led interactive sessions on topics such as:

– Exilic Life of Israelites

– Prophets (Daniel, Haggai, Zechariah, Hosea, Amos, Micah, and Malachi)

– Rebuilding of Jerusalem (Ezra and Nehemiah)

– Wisdom Literature (Job, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Songs)

– Hope for the Messiah

Games, activities, and multimedia presentations made learning fun and engaging. The camp concluded with a valedictory function on April 8, 3 p.m., where prizes were distributed to groups based on activities.

Fr. Stany D’Souza congratulated participants on completing the camp. Fr. Franklin D’Souza emphasized having strong faith in Jesus, citing the Prophets’ messages about the Messiah and baptism as belonging to God. Fr.
