ICYM Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga, elections held

Shivamogga, November 11, 2025: The ICYM meeting was held on 9th November 2025 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga.  Fr Franklin D’Souza, the Youth Director of the Diocese of Shimoga, emphasized the crucial role of youth in the Cathedral, highlighting the importance of their active participation in elections. He encouraged the youth to take ownership and contribute to the growth of the cathedral.

The youth shared their enriching experiences and feedback from the National Level Youth Gathering and Regional Level Youth Gathering, showcasing their enthusiasm and growth.

In response, Fr. Jostro  stressed the significance of Faith, Fun, and Formation aspects in their spiritual journey, explaining how these elements help them grow and develop as individuals.

The meeting proceeded with the election of new office bearers for 2026, and the following members were elected:

– President: Raju

– Vice President: Supriya

– Secretary: Rakshitha

– Boy Representative: Suhas

– Girl Representative: Susanna

– Deanery Boy Representative: Stephen

– Deanery Girl Representative: Monica

– Liturgy In-charge: Jacintha

– Social Media Secretaries: Steevastin and Mercy

– Joint Secretary: Ishal

– Program Coordinator: Rahul

Fr Jostro, Parish Youth Director, expressed gratitude to the outgoing office bearers for their teamwork and dedication, acknowledging their contributions to the community. Animators; Sr Carmelita and Fr Johnson Assistant Parish Priest were present. 

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment among the youth to work together for the community’s growth.
