Diocesan Youth Council meeting held at Yuvamitra, Shivamogga

February 3, 2024: The Diocesan Youth Commission of the Diocese of Shimoga held a Diocesan Youth Council Meeting on February 2, 2025, at Yuvamitra. The meeting commenced at 10:00am with a hymn to the Holy Spirit, Bible reading, and prayer led by Sr. Treesa Lidiya, the Diocesan Youth Lady Animator. A blessing was given by Fr. Franklin D’Souza, the Diocesan Youth Director.

Mr. Suhas Martin, ICYM Diocesan President, welcomed the gathering. Fr. Franklin D’Souza spoke on the importance of the council. He said youth leaders should never miss the opportunities that the church gives them. He appreciated the leadership of the dedicated youth in the diocese. He conveyed the Bishop’s blessings for the council.

In the agenda, the council discussed the entire year’s calendar. Special focus was given to Lent and Pentecost Night Vigil, the Diocesan Youth Convention, Yuvakeerti award, National Youth Sunday, Diocesan Youth Retreat, Yuvasaurabha criteria, Christmas Yuvataare, and diocesan elections.

At 1:30 p.m., Fr. Franklin D’Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist and thanked the council. He led a special healing prayer for the youth leaders. The council meeting concluded at 2:30 p.m. with lunch
