Cathedral Parish Celebrates Youth Day
On 31 July, 2022- A day’s program was organized for the parish youth on the occasion of the Jubilee year of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga. The program was inaugurated with the solemn Eucharistic celebration, which was celebrated by Fr Pius D’Souza and followed by rousing talk by Fr Veeresh Moras which inspired the present day youth. The talk was primarily centered on the theme ‘The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow’. It was well fitting for the youth of the parish to be spiritually nourished and intellectually enriched.
The day was filled with the fun loving activities which were conducted by Sr Christina, Dns Santhosh and Shanthraj SJ, Parish council members and Volunteers of the parish. The games included individual and group based; the winners were awarded with the gifts. There were cultural activities based on the relevant themes which added meaning to the life of youth. There were 22 participants who benefited the day’s program. The program was ended with the concluding note by Fr Stany D’souza, Parish Priest of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga, who encouraged the youth to have desire and dedication in their life. Finally the program was ended with the adoration conducted by Fr Pius D’souza. The participation of the youth displayed the remarkable unity and support to the parish.
