Fr. Franklin D’Souza Celebrates 27th Sacerdotal Ordination Anniversary

Shivamogga, May 16, 2026 : Rev. Fr. Franklin D’Souza, priest of the Diocese of Shimoga, celebrated his 27th Sacerdotal Ordination Anniversary on May 10, 2026. Ordained on May 10, 1999, Fr. Franklin marked this milestone with a thanksgiving Holy Eucharist.

The celebration was held at his sister’s residence in the presence of his 83-year-old mother, making it a grace-filled family gathering. The day also coincided with the birthdays of his brother, Mr. Michael Stanley D’Souza, and his nephew, Anston D’Souza. A small get-together followed the Mass.

In his homily, Fr. Franklin thanked God for the gift of priesthood and priestly ministry over the past 27 years. Known as a tireless preacher of the Word of God, he has travelled far and wide to proclaim the Good News.

Fr. Franklin has served the Church in various capacities, with a special focus on youth ministry in the Diocese of Shimoga and the Karnataka Region. He served as the CBCI Youth Secretary from 2011 to 2015. 

He regularly preaches retreats for priests, religious, and youth. Every year he ministers at the Divine Retreat Centre, Muringoor, Kerala, preaching the Word of God in Kannada and Konkani languages.

The faithful of Shimoga Diocese thank God for Fr. Franklin’s dedicated service and pray that the Lord may continue to bless him with good health, zeal, and many more fruitful years in His vineyard.
