
29th KRYC Council held at Bishop’s House, Karwar.
Karwar, June 1, 2025: The 29th Karnataka Regional Youth Commission (KRYC) Council meeting took place at Puneeth Sadan, Bishop’s House, Diocese of Karwar, on June 1st, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The council commenced with the Holy Eucharist, celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by the Most Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar and Deputy Chairman of KRYC. The Most Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Chairman of KRYC and Bishop of the Diocese of Bellary, delivered the homily on the Ascension, encouraging young people to become committed disciples and leaders in their faith. He articulated the Resurrection as a victory over death and the Ascension as a victory over the world, noting Jesus’s transformed body after the Resurrection. He concluded by emphasizing our role as the Mystical Body of Lord Jesus Christ.
Following the 10:30 a.m. Mass, the Council formally commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony led by Mr. Dolrich Fernandes, alongside Bishop Duming Dias, Bishop Henry D’Souza, Father Ashwin Cardoza, Father Lourd Raj, Sister Molly, and Ms. Vileena. Mr. Akwil Fernandes delivered the welcome address. Mr. Ebin presented the minutes from the 28th KRYC Council meeting. Ms. Jacinta expressed her gratitude to all attendees.
Father Lourd Raj, the outgoing Regional Youth Director (RYD), transferred responsibilities to the newly appointed RYD, Father Ashwin Cardoza. Subsequently, all departments submitted their reports. The Council convened to formulate plans for the upcoming Regional Youth Convention, scheduled for October 2 – 4, 2025, in the Diocese of Karwar.
