ICYM of Good Shepherd Church, Gopala, visited orphanage “Tayi Mane”, Alkola, Shivamogga
Shivamogga, March 24, 2026: On 22nd March 2026, Holy Mass was conducted at 8:30 AM at Good Shepherd Church, Gopala, Diocese of Shimoga, led by the ICYM and YCS members.
Following the Holy Mass, the ICYM unit, had previously decided to organize a visit to an orphanage as an act of love and service. The initiative aimed to spend quality time with the children, bringing them joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging. This meaningful initiative was led by Alwin Chiranjeevi.
The team visited “Tayi Mane” at Alkola, Shivamogga. The program began with Mercy serving as the Master of Ceremony, followed by a prayer led by Rev. Fr. Stephen Albuquerque. The event was graced by the presence of Parish Council Secretary Mr. Vijay Anto, Finance Committee Secretary Mr. Naveen, and animators Anitha Santosh, Jenitha Alwyn, and Maria Anugraha, along with ICYM members.
Various cultural activities such as singing leded by Kelvin S Kumar and dancing was conducted & leded by Ronita & ICYM members. Games for the children were organized by Sheethal Britto, Anisha Rodrigues and kevin Machado. This was followed by a joyful lunch shared with everyone.The program was well supported and guided by our animator, Anitha Santhosh.
As a gesture of love and care, sweaters were gifted to the children, an initiative also led by Alwin Chiranjeevi.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Kevin Machado.
Overall, the visit was meaningful and ended on a joyful and fulfilling note.
