
Karnataka Region YCS/YSM Council Meeting, held at Mangalore
Mangalore, July 12, 2026: The Karnataka Regional YCS/YSM Council Meeting, held at Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP) on 11th July 2026 at Mangalore. Most Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Chairman of KRYC and Bishop of Bellary, along with the Regional YCS/YSM Chaplain Rev. Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, YCS/YSM leaders and council members from 5 dioceses of Karnataka participated in the meeting.
The day began at 9:00 a.m. with a prayer, followed by the presentation of activity reports from the various dioceses. At *9:30 a.m., the Cell Meeting was conducted to discuss grassroots level concerns and experiences.
The main Council Meeting commenced at 11:00 a.m., led by Mr. Alister Clinton Fernandes, Regional President of YCS/YSM, along with the Regional Team of Students (RTS) members. The session focused on reviewing past activities and planning future programs for the region. Several key agenda points were discussed and finalized, including:
– Presentation and review of Cell Meeting reports
– Finalization of the dates for the upcoming Regional Conclave
– Approval of the Conclave theme
– Allocation of responsibilities for the theme song and music band
– Finalization of participant strength from each diocese
– Approval of the registration fee per participant
A special highlight of the meeting was the launch of the YCS/YSM Karnataka Regional E-Magazine held between 12:10 p.m. and 12:30 p.m., followed by a brief council evaluation.
The program came to a close at 1:00 p.m. with the final blessing by Most Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, followed by lunch for all participants.
