Fr Franklin D’Souza visited ICYM of Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara, Diocese of Shimoga.

July 6, 2026: Fr. Franklin D’Souza, Shimoga Diocesan Youth Director of the Diocese of Shimoga, visited the ICYM unit of Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara, on July 5th, 2026.

Rev. Fr George K. A., the Parish Priest, extended a welcome to Fr Franklin D’Souza. The gathering commenced with an opening prayer. Then the youth participants introduced themselves. Fr Franklin D’Souza then delivered a discourse emphasizing the significance of youth ministry and leadership. He articulated the Church’s commitment to supporting and empowering young individuals, providing avenues for their development as leaders at the Parish, Deanery, and Diocesan levels, thereby enabling their participation on regional and national platforms. He further presented relevant excerpts from the XXXVI Plenary Assembly’s final document pertaining to youth. Additionally, he provided an update on the diocesan program and strategic plan for the forthcoming six months.

ICYM Vice President Jenifer and Parish Executive Committee members were present. Ms. Shallen thanked Fr. Franklin D’Souza. Animator Mrs. Monica was present for the meeting. The meeting concluded with a prayer and blessing by Fr. Franklin D’Souza.
