Shivamogga, December 15, 2024:
Sacred Heart Cathedral joyfully hosted a Christmas fancy dress and carol-singing competition on December 15th at 6:00 PM in the community hall. This delightful event brought parishioners and children together to celebrate the Christmas season.
Approximately 30 children, from pre-KG to 10th standard, participated in the fancy dress competition, showcasing their creativity and festive spirit. Seven enthusiastic groups, representing various Samudaya groups from the parish, filled the evening with harmonious Christmas carols in the carol-singing competition.
The esteemed guests, Sr. Evelyne, Mr. Sunil, and Mr. Balarj, kindly served as the chief judges for the competitions.
The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Sacred Heart Cathedral meticulously organized the entire program. The youth, guided by Msgr. Stany D’Souza and Fr. Paul Anand SJ, dedicatedly managed every detail to ensure a smoothly run event.
The Young Catholic Students (YCS) group of the Cathedral began the event with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome from Fr. Paul Anand SJ. Msgr. Stany D’Souza then shared a short, heartfelt Christmas message, expressing gratitude to the parents and members of the ‘Samudayas’ for their enthusiastic participation and support. His words beautifully conveyed the true spirit of Christmas: togetherness and joy.
The evening concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for the competition winners, followed by a festive cake distribution. Attendees departed with renewed hearts, exchanging joyous Christmas wishes.
