Yuvamitra Calendar 2024 released
Year of Youth Calendar Released
Yuvamitra, Youth Commission of the Diocese of Shimoga under
the guidance of its Director Fr Pius D”Souza, along with the youth of the
Dioceses of Shimoga, creatively involved and designed a calendar for the ‘Year
of the Youth 2024. This artistically arranged Calendar has been prepared with
care and precision providing detailed information about all the youth programmes
for the coming year presenting also the photos of youth units of the parish. The Shimoga Diocese has already announced 2024
will be the Year of the Youth, manifesting multiple activities and tasks of the
youth for the Diocese and those in need. The Calendar will spell out the
details of activities of our young people, which will indicate their spirit
committing themselves for the cause of youth and more importantly the Diocese.
The Calendar was released on the 26th of November 2023 by our own Bishop Dr Francis Serrao, S.J. together with Dr Joseph Arumachadath Bishop of Bhadravathi Syro-Malabar Diocese, at end of Holy Eucharist celebrated on the occasion of the feast of Christ the King and the Annual Eucharistic procession. Mgr Felix Joseph Noronha, the Vicar General, Fr Stanish S. D’Souza, Parish Priest, Representative of Puttur Syo-Malankara Diocese, and fifty other priests of the Diocese, Religious sister and nearly 1500 faithful were present at the ceremony in the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Miss Supriya V, the diocesan president of ICYM, Mr Melvin D’Cunha, the president of YCS/YSM and the DEXCO members along with the lady animator Sr Tresa Lidya BS were present and solemnly brought the Calendars forward and presented them to the Bishops. There was much appreciation of the youth for their innovative designing of the calendar and presenting them in a pleasant way. The calendar was joyfully purchased by the faithful at the Cathedral.
